Our company designs and manufactures fluid mixers and agitators that are essential to blending some of the world’s most popular everyday products.
With a heritage of more than 85 years, we have honed our process and mixed it with some of the best mechanical and engineering minds to provide fluid mixers that work for a variety of industries, including some of the most demanding applications in pharmaceuticals, beauty and personal care, confectionary, breweries and distilleries, water and waste treatment, dairy, and much more.
At our state-of-the-art facility in the UK, we use software to calculate mixer blend times, fluid velocity, and solids suspension, resulting in proven, robust machines.

Transkem’s History
Quality and precision in fluid mixers for nearly a century
Established in 1934, Transkem began manufacturing ceramic pumps and fluid mixers for industrial applications. By the late 1970s, the mixer side of the business had increased so much that we stopped manufacturing pumps to concentrate on mixers only.
In the early 1980s, Transkem became one of the founding members of the Fluid Mixing Process Group (FMP) at Cranfield University and was active in the development of its fluid mixing design guide, helping to standardize a modeling tool across the industry. Although this design guide is still the basis for our mechanical design, we have updated the software many times and can now design even the most technical mixers in just a few hours.
Our company continued to flourish over the decades. We moved from our original premises, an old mill in Barrhead, to a new manufacturing facility in Hillington Park—which benefited the company both logistically and with a much-improved factory layout.
Today, Transkem is a global innovator in fluid mixer manufacturing—providing high-quality, highly customized, yet affordable mixers for complex and challenging mixing operations.
