Our History

Transkem has now been acquired by Hayward Tyler Group.

Transkem Fluid Mixers is based in Glasgow, United Kingdom. Established in 1934, Transkem started life manufacturing ceramic pumps and mixers. Over the following years the pump side of the business diminished and the mixer side increased to the point that in the late 1970's Transkem stopped manufacturing pumps and concentrated on the mixer side of the business.

In the early 1980's Transkem became founder members of the Fluid Mixing Process Group (FMP) at Cranfield University and were part of the development of the fluid mixing design guide. Although this design guide is still the basis for our mechanical design we have updated the software many times and can now design even the most technical mixers in a few hours.

Transkem continued to flourish and moved from their original premises, an old mill in Barrhead, to new premises in Hillington Park which benefited the company both logistically and with a much improved factory layout.

With a heritage of over 85 years Transkem have the process and mechanical knowledge to design industrial mixers and agitators to suit all fluid mixing applications.

Our mixer range of agitators suits all mixing duties covering all industries – Food, brewery, pharmaceutical, water treatment, chemical etc... Our mixers size can range from 0.18 kw to 75 kw+.

Transkem supply gate agitators, helical ribbon mixers and contra rotating mixers as well as the standard turbine, dual turbine and propeller mixers. The mixers can be finished to suit the clients' requirements albeit a mirror polished hygienic finish or a dull chemical finish.
